About Rhys
I’ve found, personally working with children, both from tutoring and forest school, incredibly rewarding. Knowing that you’ve made a positive impact and seeing all the hard work put in and then the fruits of that labour, is honestly an indescribably rewarding feeling. For me seeing that positive change and perhaps a spark of enthusiasm for something someone might have never thought they’d have liked or felt no good at is so so important. So I decided to work as a tutor to try and inspire that in others.

I like to take a hybrid approach to teaching: Sessions are fun and interactive, whilst staying grounded in effective, traditional methods. Students can expect a blend of structured learning, such as working through guides and past papers, alongside engaging activities and educational games. This balance helps maintain attention, builds confidence, and makes each lesson feel smooth and enjoyable, rather than being like having an additional lesson after school. Sessions will typically run for either 60 or 90 minutes. I also provide regular feedback and support to both students and parents, along with practice tasks to complete between sessions. My focus is primarily on small-group learning, as I find it creates a more engaging atmosphere for students and is more cost-effective for families. Each group is capped at around four students to ensure that everyone receives plenty of individual attention and support. I am DBS-certified and have experience not only in tutoring but also in working with children through forest school teaching. Currently, I offer lessons for 11+ and GCSE students in mathematics, with plans to expand into A-Level maths and additional subjects in the future.
