About Kevia
As a child, helping and inspiring others has always been a work of mines. I am a graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in Statistics and a minor in Education. I am in the process of receiving my masters degree in Education with a Concentration in Mathematics. I have taught in the public & private school sector as well as being an adjunct professor at the college level. I have been teaching and tutoring for quite some time and I take pride in making sure my students come out of each lesson gaining the knowledge that they need in order to be successful.

I have 10 plus years experience in teaching in the State of Florida. I teach students based on the standards and making sure I break down the math concept in the best way possible. I think its great for the students to tell me what the lessons are ahead of time. A typical lesson plan for me is having students do an Eye Opener to see what they know and how it ties in with the lesson given. After this , we dive into the lesson to go over the math concept then I give them an exit slip to make sure that they understood the concept learned. I am very hands on and I use the I do, We do, and You do method. I want to make sure that at the end of the lesson for the day that the student is able to work on the concept by themselves and fully do it without my assistance. I am versatile in a variety of mathematics classes so I would be able to range from Elementary to College Level lesson plans.
