Summer Math Tutoring | Prepare for 8th Grade & Algebra I
Give your child a confident start to the new school year!
As a certified Texas math teacher with 13 years of middle school teaching experience, I offer summer tutoring designed for middle school math students.
For students entering the 8th grade, we'll review and strengthen the most important 7th-grade skills before moving into one of the biggest math years.
We'll cover topics such as:
Integers and rational numbers
Proportional relationships
Percent, tax, discounts, and simple interest
Expressions and equations
Solving multi-step equations
Geometry (angles, circles, area, surface area, and volume)
Probability and statistics
For students entering Algebra I, we'll builds a strong foundation by mastering the concepts that every Algebra student needs.
We'll focus on:
Linear equations
Slope and rate of change
Functions
Graphing on the coordinate plane
Systems of equations (introduction)
Exponent rules
Scientific notation
Pythagorean Theorem
Transformations
Real-world problem solving
Test-taking strategies and mathematical reasoning
