About Lena
I am a passionate piano teacher with over 9 years of experience and an Advanced Diploma in Piano Performance. My goal is to help students connect deeply with music while building strong foundations in technique and theory. I believe that understanding music is just as important as playing it. I teach students at all levels, from beginners to advanced performers. My lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, learning style, and musical interests. I focus on technique, sight-reading, ear training, and expression, ensuring students grow as well-rounded musicians. I love exploring a wide variety of styles, including classical, jazz, soul, pop, and R&B. I encourage creativity through improvisation and composition, helping students find their unique musical voice. Exam preparation, such as ABRSM, Rockschool, or A-Levels, is integrated seamlessly for those who wish to pursue it. Above all, I aim to make lessons inspiring, engaging, and fun. I believe every student can achieve progress with the right guidance and dedication. My mission is to nurture confidence, skill, and a lifelong love for piano.

My teaching approach focuses on building both skill and passion for piano. I start by understanding each student’s level, goals, and musical interests. Lessons are tailored to suit beginners, intermediate, and advanced players alike. I combine practical playing with strong music theory, so students understand how music works, not just how to play it. I also help students prepare for exams such as ABRSM, Rockschool, and A-Levels, guiding them through pieces, sight-reading, and technical exercises. History of music is part of my lessons, giving students context and inspiration from classical to contemporary styles. Creative skills are encouraged, including composition, improvisation, and arranging pieces in their own style. I specialise in both jazz and pop piano, helping students develop fluency, expression, and confidence. I focus on technique, tone, and phrasing, making sure students enjoy learning while improving steadily. Sight-reading, ear training, and rhythm exercises are included in every session. I believe every student can excel with the right guidance. My lessons are structured yet flexible, adapting to individual needs and learning pace. Above all, I aim to make students confident performers, knowledgeable musicians, and creative thinkers.
