About Jane
Clarity comes from a calm space. Music requires patience. I use my degree from UBC to break down complex tasks like posture and hold or spiccato and staccato bowing.
We examine shifting positions and vibrato with intense care. Scales and arpeggios along with intonation and ear training form our base. I record playback of tricky passages so you can study the nuances at home. I hope you enjoy the process of improvement.

Violin instruction began for me after years of study at the UBC School of Music. The scent of rosin dust hangs in the air when I settle in to practice. My training was violin primary at Schulich with guitar and voice as secondary studies. I have taught all 3 for 13 years.
These years help me assist hobbyists and self taught players wanting structure. Performance focused students also find a home here. My approach is neurodivergent affirming and deeply patient. I appreciate a slow process.
I care about how you sound. I find joy in the small breakthroughs.
