About Pooja
"Namaste and Welcome!
I am an independent private tutor with a deep passion for teaching and child development. I am a graduate of Calcutta University (CU), which gave me a strong academic foundation. For me, teaching is not just a job or a part-time hobby—it is a lifelong calling that I have proudly dedicated myself to for the past 14 years.
Over more than a decade of teaching, I have had the privilege of personally mentoring 37 students across Class 1 to Class 10.
I understand that no two children learn the exact same way. Some are brilliant but get distracted easily; others are hardworking but suffer from exam anxiety or language barriers. Having worked with dozens of families, I have developed the patience and insight needed to connect with students of all personality types. My goal is to build a friendly, respectful relationship with my students so they never feel scared to say, 'Ma'am, I didn't understand this. Can you explain it again?'
Whether your child needs help catching up with basic reading and math, or a Class 9-10 student needs strict guidance to score high marks in their school exams, I am here to guide them step-by-step.

"In my 14 years of teaching 37 different students, I have learned that children don't hate studying—they just hate feeling confused. My classes are designed to be interactive, supportive, and completely stress-free.
1. Conceptual Learning over Rote Learning:
I don't just ask students to memorize answers for exams. We read the chapters together, and I break down complex topics using real-life examples in the language they understand best (Hindi or Bengali). Once they understand the concept, writing answers becomes easy.
2. Step-by-Step Approach for Different Age Groups:
For Class 1 to 5: I focus on building strong basics, improving handwriting, reading habits, and making sure homework is completed with full understanding. I use lots of patience and encouragement.
For Class 6 to 9: The syllabus expands rapidly here. I focus on time management, making short notes for quick revision, and practicing school board-aligned question papers.
3. Regular Progress Tracking:
Weekly Tests: A short 15-minute test every week to ensure previous chapters are not forgotten.
Parent Updates: I keep a transparent relationship with parents, updating them regularly on their child's strengths and areas that need more practice.
4. Smooth Online Experience:
I use simple digital tools, clear worksheets, and shared screens. The student will feel as if I am sitting right next to them. All they need is a smartphone or a laptop with a steady internet connection."
