About Jessica
I'm a fifth-year Dental Student with a passion for mentoring and tutoring young people. Education hasn’t always been easy for me, and through my own challenges, I’ve developed learning techniques that really work. These experiences have shaped my approach to tutoring today: patient, encouraging, and tailored to each student’s needs. I know how it feels to struggle with confidence or feel overwhelmed by certain subjects, and my goal is to help students overcome those blocks and realise what they’re capable of. Whether it’s building foundational understanding, boosting exam performance, or preparing for university, I’m here to support each student on their journey. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy crochet, sewing, and getting lost in a good book.

As a fifth-year Dental Student at King’s College London with a First-Class degree in Biomedical Science from Queen Mary University, I bring both subject expertise and a deep understanding of how students learn best, especially those who may struggle with confidence or motivation. I’ve been tutoring for over four years, working with students aged 11–18 across KS3 and GCSE level in Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. I also offer support with personal statements and interview prep for university applicants, particularly those applying to Medicine and Dentistry. My lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, whether it’s building foundational understanding, boosting predicted grades, or refining exam technique. I take a structured yet engaging approach: Concept First: I explain topics clearly using examples and visual aids Active Recall: I incorporate flashcards and rapid-fire questions to reinforce memory Practice and Exam Skills: We apply knowledge to structured topic questions and real past paper questions, focusing on mark scheme language and timing Feedback and Study Skills: I always include review time to reflect on progress, offer improvement tips, and teach study techniques that students can apply independently Lessons are typically 60 minutes, with optional homework tasks or revision resources provided. I aim to foster independent learning, critical thinking, and genuine curiosity in science and maths, while building student confidence along the way.
