The main motive of my teaching is the advancement of knowledge of all. My teaching generally emphasizes on creating more and more inquisitiveness and then seeking answers, as this is the only way we advance.I try to act as facilitator of learning, rather than as an expert who simply delivers information.
Another important aspect that I always try to take of is the learning pace of each student. After understanding the various learning styles and rates of all students, I try to devise a strategy which is suitable for all the students and at the same time enables me to complete the course syllabus in time. My general observation makes me to realize that many students need encouragement to talk to their teachers, so I always ensure my availability and willingness to help them sort out any problems they have with what they are learning.

Certain things that I try to accomplish for my students are:
1. In classroom, I tell the students what is going to be taught. Then I teach them the same and in the end, I tell them what has been taught to them.
2. A positive and relaxed atmosphere. Students are encouraged to ask relevant questions in fearless way and doubts are seen as alternative way of exploring the things rather than as measurement of student’s capabilities.
3. “Give respect and command respect”. Students work very hard to obtain their grades and their hard work should be recognized and respected.
4. Questions like How?, Why?, When?... are continuously bombarded by me in my class to create the atmosphere of inquisitiveness. I am always in the lookout of the answers of various students so that we can learn some new approach and thus advancement of my knowledge may take place.
Not to forget mentioning, I love to have my performance assessed from my students. It’s a great feeling to know how your students think about you. I take appreciation and criticism in the same stride. Of course, appreciation makes me feel confident about myself and my philosophy but at the same time I have always taken the criticism as an opportunity to rectify and improve myself. I always feel that criticism by a student is not condemnation but it’s a constructive one, presenting you another chance to devise more effective ways of delivery.
The final theme which emerges out of this whole philosophy is teaching in inclusive fashion. This means to understand and maintain the equal significance of who we teach, what we teach and how we teach. The diversity of the student body should be celebrated and not categorized.
