About Kayli
I started playing an instrument in 4th grade. I played flute continuously until 9th grade where I implemented piccolo, then in 10th grade joined jazz band playing both flute and tenor saxophone. I then also joined drumline in 11th grade as a base drum. I was involved in wind ensemble, solo and ensemble, jazz band, and marching band all through high school. I then played flute in concert band in college and played in a community band post college until covid. I absolutely love music education especially instrumental, but also remember how daunting it was to practice my instrument when I was younger, so I want to help young musicians push through the struggle they may feel during their early years of instrument education to help encourage continuation!

My approach is partnering listening with traditional instrument music teachings. Working on rhythms through vocal exercise and then partnering it with music reading 2nd. Teaching in sections is my focus. Starting with rhythm, note recognition, fingerings, then partnering them together in phases. Also provide special skillsets in music memorization teachings and emoting.
