About Kavitha
Greeting! I have obtained my doctoral degree in Biotechnology. I have worked as Junior Project Fellow in the water treatment project sponsored by Defence Research & Development Organization, Government of India, Jodhpur. I did my Under Graduation and Post Graduation in Microbiology. At present I am working as Assistant Professor (Selection Grade), Research Coordinator and Accreditation Coordinator in The Department of Biotechnology, Karunya University, Coimbatore, India for about 12 years. I have well experienced for handling experiments in Microbiology and Cell Biology. I received major funded project entitled Fabrication of bioreactor using arsenic metabolizing bacteria for water treatment sponsored by Defence Research Development & Organization (DRDO), Tezpur, Government of India. I have published 13 research papers, filed and published 2 patents and guiding M.Phil. and Ph.D. scholars.

Use of teaching aids like LCD projectors, Internet enabled computer systems; Wi-Fi enabled laptops in classrooms. Enabling students to think interdisciplinary. Quoting applications relevant to the topic, extracting videos and images to inculcation auditory effect, citing from newspaper cutting and Google doodle, relating an analogy, Role play by students. The topic for the day is mapped into the revised Bloom’s Taxonomy table. The Jigsaw method is a technique that makes students reliant on each other to accomplish success. It splits students into groups and breaks assignments into pieces that the group assembles to solve the (jigsaw) puzzle. Adopting CCDR (Curiosity, Content, Demonstrate, Reflect) teaching technique trained from industry.
