About Ella
I'm a recent First-Class Politics graduate from Durham University. I'm relatively new to Superprof, but I'm certainly not new to tutoring. I have a Cambridge CELTA teaching qualification and a wealth of experience teaching 1-to-1 ESL online. At the moment, I teach on Cambly, MyTutor and Refunet. I have a friendly, encouraging demeaner that immediately puts students at ease, as well as the academic record to prove I know what I'm talking about! Although I'm British, I was raised in Qatar with English teachers as parents. So I grew up in a household where reading daily and having in-depth conversations about English and literature was the norm. My passion for English has remained a constant factor in my life and I'm ecstatic to be sharing this with my wonderful students!

I firmly believe that lessons should always be designed with the learner’s specific needs in mind. Therefore, the structure and content of my tutorials will always depend on you the student: the areas you want to work on and your goals.
I have two areas of expertise. Firstly, tutoring GCSE English Language, with extensive experience in prepping students for AQA examinations. Second, teaching English as an Additional Language. My skills lie in teaching native British pronunciation, expanding vocabulary and idiomatic expressions, and improving fluency. Being a student myself, I thoroughly enjoy teaching young high-achievers, to help elevate their skills to the next level. Generally, I’ve found that most students are worried about their exams and benefit from focusing on exam technique: becoming familiar with specific questions and cultivating transferable skills to tackle them. Having received A*s in all my English exams, I have plenty of valuable tips and tricks for how to do exactly this! My CELTA qualification, alongside my multicultural bringing in Qatar and experience teaching ESL, make me fully equipped to propel second-language English students towards their goals.
