About Jasper
I have a 1st class undergraduate degree from the University of Warwick and an MA from the Courtauld Institute in the History of Art. During my master's I specialised in the Italian Renaissance but my passion and knowledge of art spans the full story of western art history.
I have four years of experience educating people about art by giving tours around the city of Edinburgh as well as MOMA and the Met in New York. I have also worked as an educator at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, created educational videos about art in Florence and written numerous articles published online as part of my commitment to sharing my passion.

My approach to teaching can be catered to the needs of my students. If you have particular areas of interest, we can focus on them; if there are specific exams that you need help preparing for, I would be more then happy to assist. However, if you are looking to gain an overall knowledge on the History of Art then I hope to take you on a journey to different times and different cultures. We will explore the environments and minds of the great movers and shakers; we will analyse the most important ideas and discuss the greatest masterpieces in depth.

Perfect! I find it challenging to study alone in the current pandemic period, especially when learning a new discipline like art history. Jasper has a vast knowledge of the subject. Jasper is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about art history, I’ve learnt a lot from him whilst also having a lot of fun doing so. Would definitely recommend him no matter your age or base level of knowledge on the subject. Very impressive.
Whether you are interested in Egyptian art, cave paintings, Turner or any other period or painter in art history, Jasper will guide you through it with great knowledge and attractive powerpoint slides. Where he really excells at, though, is the Renaissance. With great passion, in-depth knowledge and an incredible eye for detail and the stories behind the paintings, Jasper takes you to 15th century Florence. Highly recommended, indeed!
I have known Jasper for many years. He has found his niche in Art History, and with his warm and engaging manner, he makes it a subject that appeals to everyone. He knows his subject, and talks intelligently and articulately about it, whilst at the same time, he creates new ways of looking at it, drawing you in to discover things you had never thought about. I can’t recommend Jasper more highly - you’d be very lucky to have him as a tutor.
He is a great teacher and makes it really fun, he really helped me learn more about Michelango and widened my understanding of history of art, I would recommend very highly!
