About Erik
My passion is connecting with students through matching my teaching style to meet their learning preferences. I use a wide variety of methods of instruction including digital and web interactive learning, in-depth examination of science concepts and how they are all intertwined. We decipher vocabulary roots and context using many types of reading passages. Students examine Science phenomena building and describing models, both hands-on and digital. We analyze the way chemistry affects our daily life and how we can value and protect our environment. Math is integral to our studies: Data collection, graphing and algebra are woven into lessons. My specialty is hands-on science for every aspect of our studies. Students have fun while learning to understand science in depth.
I was a research neurobiologist before I became a certificated teacher. I’ve taught thousands of students in public, private, charter and homeschool settings.

My passion and specialty is to bring the wonder and awe of the world inside and around us. Students will engage in fascinating interactive sites, build models and perform a vast array of hands-on activities to further their understanding of all science topics. Lessons are designed for both individual and group learning. Students will also receive personalized support in their current classes.
