About Lucy

I hold an MSc in Chemistry and have over 4 years of experience helping students succeed in this fascinating subject. My focus is not only on academic achievement but also on developing a deeper understanding of chemistry’s role in our world. I specialize in teaching the principles of green chemistry and sustainable synthesis. In my sessions, students learn how atom economy, catalysis, and solvent-free reactions are applied to design efficient processes. I emphasize waste reduction strategies, showing how thoughtful chemistry can minimize environmental impact. Complex ideas are explained in simple terms so students can grasp them with confidence. I also encourage students to explore the connection between chemistry and real-world sustainability challenges. By working through examples, case studies, and practice problems, I make the subject practical and inspiring. My teaching style is interactive, supportive, and adapted to the needs of each learner. Beyond exams and assignments, I aim to foster responsible chemical practices and innovation. I want students to see themselves not just as learners but as future contributors to sustainable solutions. Together, we build knowledge and confidence step by step. With me, chemistry is more than formulas and reactions—it’s a tool for positive change. Let’s make chemistry a force for a healthier planet!

My teaching approach in Chemistry is built on clarity, structure, and confidence building. I cover a wide range of areas including organic chemistry, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, and biochemistry. For students preparing for AP Chemistry, I focus on both conceptual understanding and practical problem-solving. Complex problems are broken into smaller steps so students learn to approach them with logic and ease.

I use targeted drills and timed practice tests to help students master exam-style questions. This not only sharpens accuracy but also builds speed and exam readiness. Theoretical explanations are always supported with real-world examples and experimental analysis to make learning engaging and memorable. I also connect chemistry with related fields like environmental science, industrial applications, and biological systems.

My style is interactive, encouraging students to ask questions and think critically. I ensure they are well-prepared for assignments, lab reports, and exams. Each session is tailored to individual needs, focusing on weak areas until they become strengths. With a mentor-like approach, I guide them not just to learn chemistry but to enjoy it.

Confidence is at the heart of my method. By exam day, students feel well-prepared and ready to perform at their best. The goal is not just good scores, but a deeper understanding that stays with them.
