About Svig
I am currently pursuing a degree in Medical Bioscience at Monash University, where I have gained a strong foundation in biological sciences, chemistry, and laboratory techniques. My academic journey has been complemented by hands-on experience in various research projects, including enzyme kinetics and toxicology studies. I have developed analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills through coursework and laboratory experiments, which have furthered my passion for scientific inquiry. Additionally, my involvement in extracurricular activities, such as working on group projects and preparing presentations, has helped me build strong teamwork and leadership capabilities. I am also actively engaged in enhancing my practical skills through internships and collaborations with faculty members in the fields of pharmacology and neurology.

As an educator, I believe in fostering a student-centered learning environment where every learner is encouraged to actively engage with the material, build critical thinking skills, and develop a passion for lifelong learning. My teaching approach revolves around the following key principles: Personalized Learning I understand that each student has unique learning needs, strengths, and areas for improvement. I strive to tailor my teaching to accommodate diverse learning styles and paces, using a mix of visual, auditory, and kinesthetic methods. I create flexible learning pathways that ensure students feel supported and challenged according to their abilities. Active Learning and Engagement I believe that active learning—where students engage directly with content through discussions, problem-solving, and hands-on activities—helps deepen their understanding and retention of material. I encourage students to ask questions, share their thoughts, and apply theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios. By fostering a collaborative and interactive classroom environment, students become more invested in their learning. Clear Learning Objectives and Structure I prioritize clarity in my teaching by setting clear, measurable learning objectives for each lesson. This helps students understand the purpose of their learning and provides a roadmap for achieving mastery of the material. I maintain a structured approach that balances theory with practice, ensuring that concepts are presented in a logical and easily digestible manner. Assessment and Feedback Continuous formative assessment is integral to my approach, allowing me to gauge students’ progress and adapt instruction accordingly. I believe in constructive and timely feedback that not only highlights areas of improvement but also celebrates successes. This feedback encourages a growth mindset, motivating students to strive for improvement and take ownership of their learning. Use of Technology I integrate technology into my teaching to create dynamic and engaging lessons. Whether through multimedia presentations, interactive online platforms, or virtual discussions, I leverage digital tools to enhance learning experiences, making content more accessible and stimulating. I also encourage students to use technology to explore the subject matter outside of class, fostering independent learning. Supportive and Inclusive Environment I am committed to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected. I encourage open dialogue, diverse perspectives, and mutual respect. Understanding that students come from various backgrounds, I strive to cultivate a classroom atmosphere where everyone feels safe to express themselves and contribute without fear of judgment. Reflective Practice I am always reflective about my teaching practices, regularly assessing what works and identifying areas for growth. I actively seek feedback from my students and peers to continuously refine my approach, ensuring that my teaching remains relevant, effective, and responsive to the evolving needs of my learners.
