About Rebecca

I am in the final year of my undergraduate degree at McGill University. Throughout my degree, I have worked with kids in after-school cultural education and at summer camp. I love learning from the unique perspective that kids have on the world. I have also worked in fundraising, communications, and program management roles at environmental and community organizations, where I have built skills in synthesizing complex information, structuring learning programs, and remaining organized.

About the lesson

Hello! I'm near graduation from McGill with a major in History and a minor in Economics. I've taken courses in a variety of other subjects, including biology, creative writing, political science, anthropology and more. I am equipped to tutor students in any subject at the elementary level, and all humanities and social sciences courses at the secondary level.

I love working with students to encourage curiosity and build skills, including the skills to become an autonomous learner!

My teaching experience includes:
- Several sessions as a camp counselor at an educational summer camp. In addition to caring for the physical and emotional needs of campers, I designed and delivered daily experiential workshops about leadership and social justice for kids aged 8-16.
- Designing the curriculum for an environmental leadership program for teenagers, and facilitating weekly sessions for one high school club.
- Several years of planning and delivering weekly lessons in Hebrew reading and Jewish culture to children aged 8-13.
