About Imogen
I am a motivated and fast-learning Graduate and Postgraduate of the the University of Cambridge, having received a First Class degree last summer and a Master's of Philosophy this summer. I have tutored throughout my degree and am continuing in order to fund my Masters I have been undertaking this year. I have often sought out work involving young people, as is reflected in my CV, finding the area to be hugely rewarding and important. Having witnessed the impact of effective teaching in my own school, I appreciate how formative the position is and would work hard to help students realise their potential. I would love to make as much impact on students as I can whilst still tutoring at affordable rates. Although my experience with tutoring gives me some ground to begin, I am adaptable and would constantly alter my teaching techniques in order to best benefit each individual student.

With my depth of academic and tutoring experience I can cater to the needs of students in the realm of History, Politics and English at all levels up to GCSE, specialising in History at A-level. I can assist with University Applications and Oxbridge Preparation, as well as EPQ's and similar research if related to the fields of humanities.
My teaching method entails setting a small amount of work related to source analysis and pinpointing the analytical and structural places for improvement for the student. When tutoring A-level level history students I would produce exemplar answers and attempt to apply the individual students' weaknesses (whether in analysis or in content) to such answers in order to clearly demonstrate where they need to improve.
I would aim to deal with writing techniques, essay structure and streamlining content and analysis rather than merely teaching content- although content is of course vital, I believe that being given the tools to combat an essay structurally and technically (especially at a higher level) should be a priority. Most importantly, I aim with all my students to foster and develop interest and love for history, at whichever level they are currently studying.

Imogen is a really patient tutor. For lessons, she makes very informative powerpoints. She has really good teaching materials. I learnt so much from her lessons. I would definitely recommend her as tutor!
Imogen was my History Mentor during my under degree. She was very dedicated to making sure I had the access to all the resources I needed, and was generally very prepared and responsive. When I needed academic assistance she was extremely useful and would explain concepts and problems to me with consistency and patience. Would recommend!
