About Izzy
Hi, I’m Izzy—a gap-year student who recently achieved AAA*** in A-level Politics, History, and Religious Studies. I love helping students feel more confident in their subjects, especially when it comes to understanding tricky topics or improving essay skills.
My tutoring style is calm, supportive, and encouraging. I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed before an exam, so I focus on breaking things down clearly and making lessons feel manageable. I use simple explanations, discussion, and exam-style practice to help students build real understanding rather than just memorising facts. I’m patient, friendly, and always happy to go over things as many times as needed.
I’ve helped younger students during sixth form with revision, essays, and subject content, and my journalism work experience has strengthened my communication skills—something that really helps when explaining ideas clearly.
I tutor GCSE and A-level students in Politics, History, and Religious Studies, and I enjoy working with learners of all confidence levels. Whether a student needs help improving grades, understanding content, or feeling more prepared for exams, I aim to create a relaxed, positive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and making progress.
Lessons are usually 60 minutes, but I’m flexible and can adjust the length to suit the student.

My Approach to Tutoring
I focus on building confidence, clarity, and exam-ready understanding. My teaching style is structured but friendly, and I tailor each lesson to the student’s needs. I break down complex ideas into simple, manageable steps and use active learning techniques such as discussion, guided practice, and exam-style questions to help students retain information effectively.
Techniques & Methodology
I use a mixture of explanation, worked examples, and interactive questioning to ensure students fully understand the material rather than memorising it. I also incorporate exam technique, essay structure, and revision strategies throughout my lessons.
Lesson Length
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, although I also offer 45-minute or 90-minute sessions depending on the student’s preference and attention span.
Qualifications & Experience
I achieved AAA*** in A-level Politics, History, and Religious Studies in 2026. I have experience supporting younger students informally during sixth form, helping them with essay writing, revision planning, and understanding key concepts. My background in journalism work experience has strengthened my communication skills and ability to explain ideas clearly.
