About Joshua

Lesson topics vary depending on the skill level of the student! I tend to start with the basics of reading and analyzing music, then branch out to chord theory, and more advanced topics like secondary dominance over time. I tend to use examples in my teaching to help teach, so connecting the theory on the paper to the sound of music. I also make worksheets with my students as we're going through each lesson, so they have something tangible to take with them after each session.

For students who are looking for lessons outside their residence, I do not teach from my residence, but I do teach out of a number of studios in Manhattan. Studio rental for an hour can cost between $10-25.
