About Nicholas
I’m Nicholas, a historian with over 20 years of teaching at major colleges and universities. I have taught world and American history, the ancient and medieval worlds, modern European and American identity, Byzantine and Orthodox history, environmental and intellectual history, and the history of religion and social crises. I have also guided students through directed research projects, comparative studies, and senior thesis work.
In today’s AI-saturated world, real analytical, research, and writing skills matter more than ever, and I am committed to helping students develop the intellectual discipline and historical insight that allow them to use AI wisely rather than depend on it. My extensive experience across diverse fields allows me to provide expert knowledge, rigorous scholarship, and thoughtful guidance, helping students build confidence, sharpen deep analytical abilities, and master complex historical (and contemporary) subjects in ways that truly set them apart.

I teach students how to think like historians, developing analytical, research, and writing skills that are increasingly valuable in today’s AI-driven world.
My lessons blend discussion, primary-source analysis, and guided writing exercises, always adapted to each student’s level, goals, and learning style. We review content, explore historical questions, and apply research methods to writing assignments in ways that build confidence and clarity.
