About Ellen

I am an American theater student with basic classical training and an emphasis on textual analysis––identifying objectives and getting at core understanding of characters by exploring the given circumstances of a piece or scene. I have been trained in a variety of methods and believe in discovering characters however best works for your signature style.

About the lesson

My teaching is rooted in the material that you specifically want to work, whether it's a song, a scene, a piece specific to an audition or a broader subject like Miller or Shakespeare. We will break it down using whatever combination of methods works best for your personal style, whether that's based more in sense-memory or more rooted in textual analysis.
