About Deborah
I am a passionate Canadian nursing educator with a PhD, dedicated to supporting university students in areas like community health, maternal-child health, evidence synthesis, and academic writing. I enjoy helping students improve their writing, gain clarity in their thoughts, and grow confident in their academic journey.
My teaching approach is caring, fair, and reliable. I recognize that mastering writing can be tough, and I always treat students with patience, respect, and high expectations. I particularly enjoy working with students who need assistance with essays, research papers, theses, APA 7th edition, and navigating Canadian academic standards. I also have firsthand experience supporting ESL students and understand the unique challenges of writing in a second language while meeting university standards.
Although my primary expertise lies in nursing and health sciences, my main focus is helping students communicate their ideas clearly, concisely, and effectively across various fields. My ultimate goal is not just to help students improve their current work, but also to empower them to become more independent and confident writers.

What Sets Me Apart
I was a tenure-track professor with extensive experience teaching hundreds of students in evidence synthesis, community health, research fundamentals, and APA 7th edition academic writing. I have direct experience working with ESL students as a professor, especially with common challenges such as articles and prepositions. Over my 15+ years as a nursing professor, I have worked with numerous students to meet standards of clarity, logic, and academic voice, drawing on my hands-on experience with ESL students, particularly in helping them navigate these challenges.

I charge $100/hour because I focus on high-impact, one-on-one coaching that targets exam success and long-term understanding. You’re paying for an experienced nurse educator with 15+ years of university-level teaching who understands how exams, courses, and NCLEX preparation actually work. You’re also paying for the extensive lived experience of a professor who genuinely enjoys working with students and helping them succeed.
As a former university professor with a PhD and years of experience teaching university students to manage heavy workloads, understand complex material, and prepare for high-stakes exams, I can also work with non-nursing students who want to:
