About Jon
I am a saxophone and piano player with a degree in Classical music from the University of Nottingham (graduated in 2004). I've been teaching in and around Leeds, mainly in schools, for the past 14 years. I have taught up to Grade 8 practical and also up to Grade 5 theory (mainly ABRSM). Throughout this time I have also been performing/touring professionally and have worked with The Fun Lovin' Criminals (Huey Morgan), Shed Seven, Jane McDonald and London Elektricity Big Band among others.

I like to keep the lessons light hearted and enjoyable and try my best to cater to the student's needs. Depending on whether the lesson is, for example, a classical or jazz lesson, we may work on some pieces, including improvisation work with the latter, and then perhaps spend some time on the appropriate scales, or maybe sight reading. I am open to helping the student with what they are looking for. I also try to incorporate some theory into my lessons.
