My friends describe me as a calm and collected teacher. I am always looking for ways to improve my teaching, this could be in researching new teaching techniques or incorporating different technologies.
It goes without saying as a history teacher I love learning more about my subject. My personal library is full of books discussing historical events.

I like to focus on learner centered lessons. Thus, I like to draw into a learner's prior knowledge and let them lead the lesson. This helps the learner gain confidence in the knowledge they are building.
One could describe my lessons as having coffee with a good friend. A relaxed but controlled environment is a good way to encourage learning. I want learners to build confidence and take ownership of their learning experience.
I am experienced in differentiated instruction. I have worked in academic support and can provide detailed intervention plans and feedback on learners.
