About Omar
peace and love in the name of rastafari! i am a preserver of the past who lives contently in the present. as history has a way of repeating itself, i make deliberate efforts to dive into the origins of humanities greatest civilizations and cultures to discover their greatness and how it can be applied to our present-day ways of life so that we may hopefully live better lives than the peoples that came before us.
i enjoy traveling to countries with rich culture, djing, making music, visual art, textile art, and metalwork. i especially enjoy working with the thicker gauges of copper because they allow more freedom for me to carve smooth shapes out of them before loosing their hardness. when i’m not doing any of these things, i’m playing with my cats or nose-deep in a good read on my latest and most antiquated find!

peace : ) my name is omar and i’m here to guide you through the ancient art of wire-wrap jewelry. under my supervision, you will learn jewelry-making techniques that you can use to help you start a jewelry business or simply make one-of-one amulets to wear yourself.
in this lesson plan, i will teach students how to make a simple chain, making jump rings, and wrapping crystals. this curriculum is for people of all ages and skill levels, so don’t be shy and give it a try!
metalwork is a very special medium because it allows one to put their own energy and intention into every step of the process, from picking the stones to wrap to pounding the metal with your hammer, your energy when making your piece will be the first vibrations that go into it.
