About Melissa
I’m Melissa, a music teacher of 15+ years, singer, songwriter, and coach for young musicians. I love helping kids fall in love with piano and giving them the tools to create, perform, and express themselves through music. My Lesson Style
Each lesson is structured to keep students motivated, focused, and excited:
1. Warm-Up (2–3 min)
Finger exercises, rhythm claps, and quick review of last week’s skills.
2. Learning Something New (15–20 min)
We explore new music concepts such as chords, technique, sight-reading, or a new piece.
I break it down step-by-step so it always feels manageable.
3. Play & Practice (10–15 min)
Students play songs with guided practice.
I model the technique, then help them build accuracy and confidence.
4. Fun Creative Moment (2–3 min)
Improvisation, musical games, or creating a tiny melody — this is where the JOY happens.
5. Wrap-Up & Goals (1–2 min)
Students leave knowing exactly what they learned and what to practice next.
