About Sarah

Music is universal. It is something that can impact lives and help shape individuals. Whether you become a concert pianist or a concert goer, it is important to understand music in order to be able to fully appreciate it.

I have been teaching through Mississippi State University's Music Department for the last few years. I teach through the department as well as privately.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music concentrated in piano from MSU, I won first place in a state competition, and I performed with the Starkville Symphony Orchestra as a soloist.

I first started teaching through MSU's Pre-College Piano Program before it became the Community Music School. I still teach through the CMS as well as privately.

Bachelor's Degree in Music with a concentration in Piano from MSU.

I regularly attend conferences to stay up-to-date with current music and teaching methods.

I like to find out more about my students such as what they are interested in, their learning types, etc. From there I decide on an appropriate method, repertoire, and program for them to best succeed through. I also like to know how many other extra curricular activies they are involved in so that I know what type of preparation to expect from lesson to lesson and how much to assign each week.

I have worked with students whose ages ranged from 4 years old to 65+ years old as well as students with learning disabilities such as dyslexia.
